Pocket Mobility Trace Recorder PDF Print E-mail

Ad hoc wireless devices (PMTR) have been designed, in order to trace user mobility in a campus environment, their inter-contact and intra-contact times, so as to characterize an analytical model for these times.

The devices exchange beacons in the range 433 MHz and have long battery lifetime. Contact start time and length is recorded in the local flash memory. A USB port is available to configure the devices and download the log at the end of the experiments.

A preliminary experiment has been performed with around 15 devices for 10 working days. Currently, around 50 devices have been produced and an experiment is ongoing, which should last for three weeks.

The anonymized traces are available in the following format: (id_source, id_destination, t_start_contact, t_end_contact)
