Applications and Protocols for Bluetooth wireless networks

The main research issues we consider in this project concern:

  • The design and evaluation of protocols for the characterization of scatternets and the routing of multicast packets;
  • The design, implementation and evaluation of policies for the localization of devices and services in Bluetooth networks connected through IP wired networks;
  • The deployment of applications for the transmission of real-time data (e.g. audio/video streaming);
  • The design and implementation of mechanisms for indoor positioning exploiting the Bluetooth technology instead of GPS.
